Foster and Company

The History of Foster and Company

Founded by Al Foster in 1948 in Newark, New Jersey, the company incorporated in 1954 and moved to new and larger facilities. In 1968 Chem-Power Manufacturing Division was started to give our sales force wider marketing access into the speciality chemical maintenance market.

In 1970, a new headquarters facility, designed to accommodate the functions of both a distribution warehouse and the chmical manufacturing operation, was built in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey.

In 1977, in order to help us serve our customers more rapidly, Foster and Company expanded into the Southeastern states, opening a warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia.

As sales increase and our product lines expand, we will need to develop additional staff and distribution facilities.
